‘IG’s Deployment Of Special Forces Aimed At Assassinating Gov Adeleke’

The Federal Government’s deployment of special forces to Osun State, currently in political crisis, is aimed at assassinating Ademola Adeleke, the governor of the state.

This is the stance of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in the state

The party, while addressing journalists today in Osogbo, the state capital, alleged that the smoldering crisis in the state was being orchestrated by the federal government to affect scheduled local government elections in the state on Saturday.

Moreso, it is aimed at assassinating Gov Adeleke, the main opposition party in Nigeria added.

The PDP State chairman, Sunday Bisi who addressed journalists on the matter, also called the international community to call the Inspector-General of Police to order.

He said it should prevail on the IGP to desist from enabling orchestrated attempts targeted at assassinating Gov Adeleke, emphasisng that the plans to cause mayhem in the state, had been on the cards from the time the All Progressives Congress (APC), lost the election in the state in 2022.

Bisi alleged that Mr. Egbetokun was deliberately deploying Special Forces under him to escort some miscreants into the local government councils in the state, describing it as a coup.

“One out of the many mapped-out plans is to assassinate the Governor of our dear state, Senator Ademola Jackson Nurudeen Adeleke, whose instruction to restore peace and order as the Chief Security Officer of Osun State was flagrantly violated by Mr. Egbetokun.

“The whole world must warn and prevail on Mr Kayode Egbetokun to desist from being an enabler of orchestrated attempts on the life of our Governor.

“These plans, we want to emphasise have been on the cards of the APC in Osun State since the good people of Osun State voted them out of office in 2022”, Bisi stated.
