How Teenager Running From Girlfriend’s Brother Fell And …
The unthinkable has happened to a teenager who was running from his girlfriend’s brother: not only did he fall in the process, he had also breathed his last.
Identified as eighteen year old Anderson Evason, he and three other boys had gone visiting their girlfriends, in the same village, when the incident happened.
A native of Mathotho Village, Traditional Authority Mphuka in Thyolo, Malawi, he met his last after falling from a height of about 17 metres while running away when his girlfriend’s brother busted them.
According to Deputy Public Relations Officer for Thyolo Police Station sergeant Rabecca Kashoti, referromg to police records, it was reported that on 5 April 2023 at around 1900 hours, Evason and his three friends went to visit their girlfriends at the said village.

“While chatting [with the girls] at a certain church, a brother to one of the girls approached, prompting the boys to start running away in different directions.
“Later, the three other boys met and immediately searched for Evason who was found dead in the following morning along Mathotho River,” said Kashoti.
The matter was reported to Thyolo Police Station who visited the scene along with a medical officer who indicated that the death was due to severe head injury.
Case of foul play is being ruled out by the police.
The Eagle reports that issues of teenage pregnancy are not uncommon in Malawi, with spikes in such cases during the pandemic and immediate pandemic season. Also, marriage of girls at 18 are not a rarity in one of African’s friendliest countries.
