How Suspected Kidnappers Jumped Out Of Lexus Car And…

The suspected kidnappers already had their kidnap victim blindfolded and tucked into their operational vehicle after making him pay N700, 000 into their account.

The sight of such lexus saloon car on the streets of Warri isn’t a new thing. Neither is, the sight of police on checkpoint.

However, what happened when the suspected kidnappers sighted the police checkpoint remain instructive.

The Police Command in Delta which relayed the account said the suspected kidnappers just jumped out of their operational vehicle and took to their heels.

Upon drawing closer, the policemen discovered that there was a blindfolded man in the boots of the lexus car.

The command’s Spokesperson, DSP Bright Edafe, who gave the details in Warri today, said police operatives, who are attached to the Ebrumede division in Uvwie Local Government Area of the state succeeded in apprehending the suspected kidnappers.

His account via a statement reads thus:

“On July 29, 2023, the police patrol team while on stop-and-search duty, flagged down a Lexus saloon car.

“The occupants on noticing the police, jumped down from the vehicle with a double barrel gun and took to their heels.

“The police operatives ran after them and in the process one of the suspects holding the firearm was neutralised while others escaped.

“On a closer look at the abandoned vehicle, a kidnapped victim was seen blindfolded but was immediately rescued by the police and taken to the station,” he said.

According to him, it was the rescured victim that made them know he was a kidnap victim, who futher narrated that he was kidnapped yesterday  along the Jakpa Road, Effurun, Uvwie Local Government Area of Delta.

Providing further background, Edafe quotes the kidnap victim as saying:“The suspected kidnappers used their tricycle to hit my vehicle from behind, and in an attempt to confront them, they brought out the double barrel gun and forced me into my vehicle”.

By this time, they had already made the man to transfer N700, 000 to their account, he informed, adding that the police had reunited the man with his family.
