It happened in an Indian community and had been the talk of the town.
News reveal that the man, Jalil Khan, allegedly set ablaze his 40-year-old lover, Sangita Suresh Devre, her married daughter and infant granddaughter in Nashik on Monday, police said.
While the nine-month-old infant died, the two women suffered 80 per cent burn injuries. They were admitted to the Nashik Civil Hospital, where their condition is stated to be serious, Madhukar Kad, in-charge, Panchavati police station, revealed to Afternoon Voice
Khan, who is married, has been on the run after the incident.
Khan had been having a romantic affair with Devre, for the past one year. They reportedly had a heated argument over some issue on Sunday, the official said.
Police revealed that Khan came to Devre’s home in Panchavati locality past midnight on Monday and poured kerosene on her, her daughter and her granddaughter, before setting them on fire and fleeing the scene.
Efforts are being made to arrest the suspect.
