How An Inferno Almost Gutted A Two-Storey Building

A two storey building was saved from an inferno by the spirited efforts of neighnours and other sympathisers, at No, 1 Ogunlana Street Oshodi Market area recently.

Incidentally, our reporter who raced to the scene could not immediately ascertain the cause of the fire.

However, this did not hinder people from rising to the occasion as they successfully put out the fire before men of the fire service could access the area.

There was commotion as the inferno threatened given both the population of residnets in the area as well as business outlets that would have lost millions of naira had the fire thrived.

A resident and businessman who simply identified himself as Hon. Famous, who  reportedly called the Lagos State Emergency Response Team, told The Eagle:

“ I was in a meeting with a friend in my office before I had noise and I came out suddenly I saw the next building to my office is on fire.

Immediately i called LASEMA and before twenty to fifteenth minutes they team arrived at the scene and I really appreciate their quick response

“Same goes for the men in this vicinity for their fearless act of battling the inferno before firefighters arrived”.

no member in the LASEMA team was willing to speak to our reporter when approached.

Resdients were also not forthcoming, cautious of implicating someone.
