How 11 Year Old Girl Exposed Mother’s Evil Plot

It is a classic case of unveiling of a mother’s evil plot, a heartless incaseration of an innocent girl for two years.

For those two years, mother locked away daughter of 16 in a room, without a damn the trauma of such dehumanisation.

It just took shouting from another girl of 11 to draw public attention to the evil mother’s plot, thereby freeing the girl in captivity.

The cat was let out of the bag, when on Thursday afternoon between 12:00 and 16:00 the 11-year-old sister ran outside and began yelling for help.

Sympathisers who responded to the girl’s call for help, mobilised and went into the house, more than shocked at the mother’s evil plot.

The older girl was very weak and could barely speak.

All the while, the suspect had been lying to neighbours in New Kasama in Lusaka, Zambia, that the girl had been taken to live with her father in Chiengi, another neigbourhood, the Zambian Observer reports.  

The cat had been let out of the bag.

The suspect was apprehended and taken to Chilenje Police Station, while the child was taken to a location where she would be safe.

According to deputy spokesperson for Zambia Police Danny Mwale, the suspect is  charged with assault resulting in actual bodily harm.

“It is alleged that the child was kept in confinement for almost two years by her biological mother in a house where she was being abused. She endured beatings and slaps.” Mr. Mwale said.

According to reliefweb, a child supportive platform, child defilement cases have been on the rise in recent years in Zambia, with the Zambia Police Service reporting 576 of child defilement in the second quarter of 2021

The number was an increase by 10% of the figures the quarter earlier. “Children have also fallen victim to Gender-Based Violence (GBV), the platform says, adding that, “as of February 2022, 1,814 children were abused countrywide, representing 22.9% of all the victims of GBV reported.

Girl children were the most affected with GBV, accounting for 1,3422 (74%) cases compared to boys at 472 (26%) cases. It should be noted that the reported cases are just a fraction of the many incidences that remain unreported”.
