Emergence of New Alaafin: Gov Makinde Washes Hands Clean

Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, has washed his hands clean over the choice of a new Alaafin for the ancient kingdom of Oyo.

He added however that he had no regrets ensuring a transparent process for the emergence of a new monarch.

The governor who spoke while receiving Oba Akeem Owoade who had come on a courtesy visit, said he was impressed by the way that Oba Owoade emerged.

According to him, he maintained a neutrality throughout the process, for the sake of sustaining public confidence and fairness.

“Governor Makinde is deeply passionate about the causes he supports, particularly the emancipation and development of his people,” he added.

In his response, the Alaafin praised what he described as the governor’s transparency, steadfastness, and dedication to the welfare of the people.

He said he was a visionary leader with a penchant for the truth, urging Oyo people to rally their support for the governor

“When leaders genuinely care about their people, they foster trust, build stronger relationships, and ensure long-term success,” he said, praying for the governor’s continued good health and long life in service to the state.
