After eight years of waiting for government approval, Dunamis International Gospel Centre has completed and commissioned a pedestrian bridge along Airport Road in Abuja.

The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, disclosed this on Friday at the commissioning ceremony, saying the church first submitted its application in 2018 but did not receive approval until February 2026, following his intervention.

Wike said the application had remained unattended to for years before it was brought to his attention. He described its eventual approval as an example of how responsive governance could address administrative delays.

Wike also commended the church for undertaking the project, which he said would serve the public. He urged Nigerians to assess government officials based on their actions while holding them accountable where necessary.

Speaking at the event, the General Overseer of Dunamis International Gospel Centre, Pastor Paul Enenche, said the church had pursued the project for about six years before receiving approval.

Enenche said the construction company initially estimated that the project would take at least six months, but the timeline was revised to four months, with workers operating day and night to complete it.

He expressed appreciation to the FCT administration for granting approval, adding that the church’s decision to undertake the project was driven by its commitment to service and community development.

Enenche said the project reflected the Christian principle of love and giving, urging Nigerians to focus on making positive contributions to society.
