Lagos State lawmaker, Desmond Elliot, has raised issues about alleged intimidation in the ongoing All Progressives Progress, APC primary for the House of Assembly elections.

He has also officially withdrawn his candidacy for the Surulere 1 citing intimidation by other interest groups.

The actor-turned politician made the shocking announcement at the Paddington mini stadium on Western Avenue, Surulere Lagos, where the party’s primary was ongoing.

He said he had no option than to withdraw from the primaries following unnecessary appeals to the electoral officers to his supporters access to the polling venue.

“And of course, in all zones, they’ve been intimidating and stopping us.

“I want to officially announce my withdrawal from this particular race. This is my ward. If you go outside, those are my people outside,” he said.

“They’ve not been allowed

“Good luck. Thank you, and God bless you,” he told party members.

Calling on the APC leadership to wade in and restore order, he said he was stepping aside the venue of the APC primary to forestall unforeseen situations.
