Bricklayer Jailed 20 Years For Impregnating 13 Year Old Daughter

A bricklayer has pleaded guilty to the charge of impregnating his own stepdaughter and has been sentenced to 20 years imprisonment with hard labour.

Eric Kofitse got the sentence at the Accra Circuit Court presided over by Mrs Christiana Cann, after he was found guilty of defiling the girl.

A test conducted on the girl revealed that she was 7 weeks pregnant.

Facts presented by the prosecutor Chief Inspector Kofi Atimbire, Kofitse showed the man had defiled the girl on numerous occasions since 2019.

It was when the girl could not stand the ordeal any longer that she reported it to her mother.

According to the prosecution, the mother promised to talk to her husband to stop, but Kofitse still continued to defile the girl.

The bid to send the girl to go stay with her mum’s sister failed giving the culprit opportunity to continue where she stopped.

The prosecution added that the girl ran to her biological father because she could not stand the persistent sexual attacks from her stepfather.

The father lodged a complaint with the police after the girl informed him of the sexual attacks she had suffered at the hands of Kofitse, Graphic online reported.
