PICTURE OF THE DAY – When BPE DG’s Small Became Too Much

In the season of scarcity such as COVID-19 has foisted on millions of Nigerians, a modest gesture could translate to so much.

And so it was with the woman in the picture within the week, when the Bureau of Public Enterprises (BPE)’s humanitarian train stopped by her door steps.

She is an elderly disabled woman in the   Gbaupe Community in the Kuje Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), but that is not the story.

What is, is that she had heard about how the bureau had been reaching out to communities within the FCT with COVID-19 palliatives and did not want the largesse to pass her by.

By herself, she braved the odds and took a step of faith.  Who knows for how long she had seeking food…and now….

Though it was the bureau’s last lap of the humanitarian journey, the woman did not go empty-handed.

The picture above tells the rest of the story.
