Foremost Nigerian banker and founder of its mega brands, Zenith Bank PLc, Mr Jim Ovia has stepped down as group chairman.
Ovia’s stepping down, which follows the expiration of his tenure, was announced by the bank in the course of its ongoing Annual General Meeting (AGM)
According to the bank, the development is in compliance with the corporate governance guidelines issued by the Central Bank of Nigeria, given that Ovia has completed the mandatory 12 years as a non-executive director and chairman.
The Eagle reports that Jim Ovia is stepping down from the exalted position accompanied by great accolades, on account of his great strides with the bank.
