Breaking – El-Rufai Escapes Arrest by Security Operatives
Former Kaduna State governor, Nasir El-Rufai has just escaped arrest by security operatives.
He had just arrived at the Nnamdi Azikwe International Airport, Abuja, from Cairo, Egypt when the security operatives accosted him.
El-Rufai’s Media Adviser, Muyiwa Adekeye, broke the news in a post on his verified X (formerly Twitter) handle.
According to him: “Security agents today attempted to arrest Malam Nasir El-Rufai as he arrived on a flight from Cairo.
“Malam El-Rufai declined to follow them without a formal invitation
“They, however, snatched his passport from an aide,” Adekeye stated.

The security operatives approached the former governor as he disembarked from his flight.
Obviously, they wanted to arrest him but the former minister refused,
He reportedly said they would not arrest him since they did not have or show a warrant of arrest.
He further alleged that political pressure was being mounted on politicians to either defect to the APC or remain within the ruling party.
