Barcelona Star Pedri Sends Out Strong Statement Amid Exit Talk

Pedri has discussed his future at Barcelona in light of reports that the team may consider bids for the midfielder beset by injuries.
Pedri was questioned by the media over his status at Barca in light of the most recent rumours prior to this week’s second leg of Barca’s Champions League quarterfinal matchup against Paris Saint-Germain. Despite the rumours, he maintains that he is “very happy” where he is and that he expects the club to stick to their version of events.

Pedri told reporters: “[About the future], I am very calm. I’m delighted at the club and I know Barca will keep their word in what we spoke to, so I am very happy to stay at the club of my dreams.”
As Pedri struggles to remain fit and returned earlier this month from his third layoff due to a muscle issue this season, speculation over his future has intensified. A March report from Spain stated that Barca no longer views the 21-year-old as “untouchable” when it comes to a potential transfer out of the team due to his ongoing injury problems.
For Pedri, the answer is straightforward: stay fit. After making two appearances off the bench in Barcelona’s previous games against PSG and Cadiz, he is motivated to play the remainder of the season without suffering any injuries. With no international experience since the 2022 World Cup, there’s a good chance that he’ll be called up in time for Euro 2024 if he can demonstrate his fitness in the upcoming weeks. But time is of the essence, and the most important thing should be to make sure he is available for business in the long run rather than rushing things.
