Bandits have sent an elderly woman they abducted to an early grave because she was too weak to keep up with their fast pace.
The elderly woman, identified as Mrs Elizabeth Olorunshola, hailed from Ilafin-Isanlu community, Yagba East Local Government Area of Kogi State.
She was abducted along the Ilafin-Isanlu road in the community, and forced to follow her abductors to their hideout in the forest.
However when they realised she could not keep up pace they shot her
The incident happened yesterday but the elderly woman’s body was discovered today, alongside another male abductee who was carrying wounds.
Reacting through a statement, the President of the Ilafin Development Association (IDA), Mr. Idowu Awe, said, “Today, we had a terrible and disturbing experience that led to the loss of one of our great daughters and mother – Mrs Elizabeth Olorunshola.

“We commensurate with the Olorunsholas’ Family in particular and Ilafin community as a whole.
“This challenge has received the attention of our elders and leaders. Discussions are ongoing as to what we can do to secure our community.”
According to the Executive Chairman of Yagba East Local Government Area, Hon Joshua Dare Monday,
“A tragic attack occurred last night, resulting in the abduction and subsequent killing of a woman, while another person sustained gunshot injuries,” he said.
