Aston Villa Fans Make Hostile Reception For Henderson on England Return
Aston Villa supporters booed Jordan Henderson, the Ajax midfielder, throughout a crushing 4-0 thumping, making his homecoming to England a nightmare.
The Villa supporters gave the former Liverpool mainstay, who is currently playing for Ajax, a terrible time throughout the game, making it a difficult return for the midfielder in the Europa Conference League. He was the target of loud jeers from the stands, echoing the hatred he had experienced from England supporters at Wembley in October.

Henderson put in a dismal shift in midfield as he looked unsettled after finding himself at the receiving end of the tumultuous reception. He admitted that it was a “tough game” and believes the second goal was the turning point in the match.
Speaking to TNT Sports after the match Henderson said: “Tough game. It’s hard to stand here and put it into words straight after the game. We’ve been beaten quite easily in the end which is disappointing. I felt we were in the game at the end of the first half. We conceded a second goal which was poor on our behalf and then it’s always tough at that point. To go 10 men it’s very difficult to come back against a good side. Injuries and everything started to go wrong. If we’d kept it at 1-0 for longer we could have hurt them but we were well beaten in the end. Villa are a good side.
A ferocious Villa team completely destroyed Ajax, scoring their first goal through Ollie Watkins in just 25 minutes. Following the visitor’s marching orders to Sivert Mannsverk, Leon Bailey extended the lead. Jhon Duran and Moussa Diaby then added goals to the tally to seal an overwhelming victory.
Henderson and co. will play again on Sunday against Sparta Rotterdam. Currently ranked fifth in the Eredivisie, they are 19 points outside of the Champions League spots. On the same day, the Villans will take on West Ham in a Premier League match.
