Arsenal Hopeful Declan Rice Will Feature In Man City Clash
Arsenal is confident Declan Rice will be able to play against Manchester City after the veteran midfielder suffered a back injury against Tottenham Hotspur.
According to Mikel Arteta, the midfielder complained of significant back pain during the first half of the 2-2 draw against Spurs and was replaced at halftime. The England international’s back pain was said to have gotten worse overnight, limiting his movement, and it was believed that the former West Ham player was initially anticipated to be out for a significant amount of time. The club feels Declan Rice should return soon and may even do so for the match against Manchester City on October 8, according to the Daily Mail, but the injury is still being monitored.

Arteta won’t be very disappointed to be ranked fifth and undefeated after six games this season following the draw against an in-formed team coached by Ange Postecoglou. Arteta, however, will be hopeful Rice is able to make it back in time for the Man City game. Leandro Trossard and Gabriel Martinelli should also be able to battle Pep Guardiola’s team after suffering from hamstring injuries.
On Wednesday, September 27, the third round of the Carabao Cup will feature an Arsenal vs. Brentford match.
