Ambassador Ajadi Leads West Africa Tour For Good Governance, Transformative Leadership

Chieftain of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP), Ambassador Olufemi Ajadi Oguntoyinbo, has embarked on a West Africa Tour to spread the gospel of good governance and transformative Leadership

The tour which kicked off today and would last till July 21, would see Ajadi and his team touching four West African countries in a row.

These include Togo, Benin, Cote D’Ivoire and Ghana.

The agenda of the West Africa Tour include good governance principles and transformative Leadership ideals, from which Nigeria and Nigerians could learn from.

Ambassador Ajadi, known for his good governance advocacy, infrastructure development, and philanthropy, previously contested in the 2023 NNPP gubernatorial primaries in Ogun State, showcasing a commitment to public service.

Reflecting on his aspirations for higher office and his journalistic background, he emphasized the educational foundation that shaped his diverse career spanning journalism, entertainment, politics, and entrepreneurship.

Addressing journalists at his Shimawa, Ogun State office on Wednesday, July 10, 2024, Ambassador Ajadi outlined the tour’s objectives: “Our journey through Benin, Togo, Ghana, and Abidjan is aimed at studying and adopting best practices in governance from these progressive West African nations. We aim to learn from their advancements in infrastructure, including robust road networks, stable electricity supply, and efficient healthcare systems.”

He continued, “Good governance is about delivering leadership that is ethical, transparent, and accountable to the people. It’s about making decisions that improve the quality of life for all citizens.”?

“Highlighting economic considerations, Ambassador Ajadi discussed the disparity in currency exchange rates impacting Nigerian economic conditions: “The economic landscape and the well-being of Nigerians will influence my decision regarding whether to pursue gubernatorial or presidential aspirations. Sound economic policies are essential for stability and growth. By examining how other West African nations manage their economies, we aim to develop strategies that will strengthen Nigeria’s economic resilience.”

Ambassador Ajadi also stressed the importance of education and healthcare: “A nation thrives when its citizens are educated and healthy. We are committed to understanding how our neighboring countries have built robust educational and healthcare systems that serve all levels of society.”

The West Africa tour is poised to provide firsthand insights into governance methodologies that have propelled these nations ahead politically. “Public service should be synonymous with accountability. By observing the governance models of our West African neighbors, we aim to implement systems that ensure public officials are held accountable for their actions, thereby fostering trust and integrity in government,” he added.
