‘I Have More to Reveal’: Datti Fires Back at Obi’s Supporters

Former Labour Party vice-presidential candidate, Yusuf Datti Baba-Ahmed, has responded to criticism from supporters of Peter Obi, saying their attacks will not stop him from speaking about his former running mate and the 2023 presidential election.

Datti made the remarks during an interview with Symfoni TV, where he accused some supporters of Obi, popularly known as Obidients, of attacking him whenever he speaks critically about the former Anambra State governor.

“Obidients are always eager to attack me. I have more damaging things to reveal. You attack me because I told you the truth about Peter Obi,” he said.

He maintained that he would not be silenced by the criticism, adding that some of Obi’s supporters were unaware of what happened during the 2023 election.

His comments come amid growing disagreements over Obi’s political direction ahead of the 2027 general election, particularly his moves to align with the African Democratic Congress (ADC) coalition.

Datti criticised Obi’s political moves in recent weeks, drawing reactions from supporters who accused him of turning against the man he ran alongside in the 2023 presidential election.

Some of the supporters have also accused him of working in the interest of former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar, although no evidence has been established to support the allegation.

Datti’s latest comments have further exposed the disagreement between the two former political allies and the divisions among some of their supporters.
