The Lagos State Health Management Agency (LASHMA), has reached out in kindness to a family which lost a member through childbirth complications.
The woman had given birth to a set of quadruplets only to later loss her life, alongside one of the newborns shortly after, and now the Lagos State government is providing succor through a range of incentives.
The incentives were announced during a visit to the family last week by LASHMA.
The agency provided financial assistance, essential relief items, and enrolled the father and the three surviving infants into the ILERA EKO health insurance scheme.
The intervention is aimed at ensuring continued access to quality and affordable healthcare for the children notwithstanding the childbirth complications that claimed the mother and one of the children.

The agency noted that the gesture reflects the broader role of healthcare beyond treatment, emphasising compassion, dignity, and support for families during difficult times.
LASHMA also highlighted the importance of health insurance in reducing the burden of unexpected medical costs even from childbirth complications.
He urged residents to take advantage of ILERA EKO as part of efforts toward achieving Universal Health Coverage in Lagos State, with a commitment to leaving no one behind.
