Condemned Inmate Escapes from Maximum Security Custodial Centre

There is high alert in and around town after a condemned inmate escaped from the Maximum Security Custodial Centre where he was held.

Abba Hassan, who hails from Maiduguri, Borno State, just escaped from the Maximum Security Custodial Centre, Potiskum, Yobe State, in the early hours of today, the Yobe State Police Command said in a statement.

The statement which was signed by its spokesperson, SP Dungus Abdulkarim, appealed for vigilance on the part of the public, security agencies, transport operators, community leaders, and vigilante groups within Yobe State and neighbouring States.

It urged them to come forward with information that could lead to the re-arrest of the condemned inmate, on emergency number – 08038452982.

“I want to use this opportunity to inform you that, so not attempt to confront or apprehend him on your own.”
