After Wife’s Attack: Army Officer Loses Battle To Stay Alive

A Nigerian Army officer, has eventually lost the desperate battle to stay alive after he was attacked by his wife.

Lt. Samson Haruna, suffered the unfortunate fate following a heated domestic squabble with his wife. has His battle was against severe burns on his body after his wife allegedly set him ablaze.

The gory details were brought to light by one Zagazola Makama, a counter-insurgency expert, in a post on his X handle on Tuesday.

The ugly incident had played out at Wellington Bassey Barracks, Ibagwa, Abak local government area of Akwa Ibom State.

It was gathered that the army officer, a medical doctor attached to the 6 Battalion Regimental Medical Officer (RMO), met the fate following a domestic incident.

“He, the deceased, had a heated argument with his wife, Mrs. Samson Haruna, which resulted in her dousing him with petrol, and setting him alight.

“The officer sustained severe burns and was immediately stabilised at the Military Reference Section (MRS) in the barracks before being evacuated to the University of Uyo Teaching Hospital for further management,” he wrote.

Medics at the hospital had given their best trying to save the life of the army officer, all to no avail.

Now, the wife, had been arrested while investigation into the matter continue, reports say.
