Breaking News On JAMB Post-UTME Screening Deadline

There is breaking news on JAMB post-UTME screening deadline. This latest information from the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board centres on the Post-UTME screening scores by respective universities.

The board says it has extended the submission of the scores of underage candidates who sat for the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination.

This it announced in a statement today, by its spokesperson, Fabian Benjamin.

Benjamin, said the latest decision was taken in collaboration with the affected institutions, and that a reminder had been duly sent to the defaulting universities by email.

According to him, several institutions had yet to send in scores of underage candidates who sat for the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination despite the release of the 2025 Senior School Certificate Examination results by the National Examinations Council on September 17.

“23 out of 71 universities failed to meet the earlier deadline of September 15 for the submission of the scores. The institutions are among those chosen by candidates seeking admission”, Benjamin informed, adding that

further on the JAMB Post-UTME Screening, Benjamin further directed all public universities to upload their recommended candidates to the Central Admissions Processing System on or before September 30, while private universities have until October 31.

“The measure was necessary to meet the overall admission deadlines of October 30 for public universities and November 30 for private institutions.”

According to him, a breakdown of the affected schools with underage candidates is as follows:

1. The University of Lagos – 39 underage candidates
2. Nile University of Nigeria, Abuja – 18
3. Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka -15
4. The University of Abuja – 12
5. University of Uyo -9
6. Federal University of Technology, Owerri -8, and
7. David Umahi Federal University of Health Sciences, Uburu -6

The board spokesperson added that in total, 135 underage candidates are involved across 23 institutions.

According to Registrar of JAMB, Prof. Ishaq Oloyede 41,027 underage candidates wrote the 2025 UTME, out of which about 500 met the requirements to proceed to the next stage.
