I Have Just Made A Shocking Discovery About Garri Ijebu

I have just made a shocking discovery about Garri Ijebu, and I want anyone who has a contrary view to controvert it

Now, for those from or residing in the southwest part of the country, garri Ijebu needs little or no introduction.

It is a popular snack for them, especially with milk, sugar, meet, fish or suya to go with.

To say that the snacky food is popular with people here is to state the obvious.

It’s so popular that a colleague of ours who began shipping in a specially processed variety was making a kill, so to say.

For one, he was meeting the snacky needs of an impressive number of colleagues, who some times lack options in-between meals.

He didn’t have to stress much aside the costs of bringing it over, as it was almost sold out before arrival.

But I just made a shocking discovery about garri Ijebu, following a surveillance that spanned weeks, covering Ogba, Ishaga and parts of the Ogun outskirt neighbourhood of Olambe.

It was first an isolated case, after the three of us, smarting from the heat of one day in early December, were desperately in need of something to cool our nerves and someone suggested Garri Ijebu. We immediately sent a young lady with a list of what we wanted with it.

Lo and behold, by the time we added all that we had on hand for it, we were shocked at our discovery. It was Christian that first noticed, and then, Ola: strands of hair in almost every other scoop, and that was how we abandoned something we had already set our hearts at.

But then, it triggered my personal interest, and I began a sampling.

If it was once, I probably would have concluded it was a coincidence. This however was repeatedly observed

Somehow, each time I bought the retail portion of garri Ijebu, the one usually sold in small retail sizes, I ended up spilling it: there would ALWAYS be hair.

Normally you would first add water to drain out particles before sugar, milk, groundnuts or any other spice of your choice.

My discovery however, was that the more I added water to drain out debris, the more hair I found inside the soaked Garri Ijebu. Not an isolated case like I have pointed out, but almost as if mixed in the entire stuff. I am now left wondering: how come we find strands of hair in this cherished stuff?

As a matter of fact, why are there strands of hair in almost every portion of garri Ijebu that I have bought afterwards ?

What is the relationship between garri Ijebu and human hair?
