Harry Kane To Finally Pick Up Trophy Ahead Bayern Clash

Published

on

Harry Kane will travel to Hoffenheim for Bayern Munich’s season finale to accept an individual award prior to kickoff.

The England captain, who suffered a back injury during the 2-1 Champions League semi-final second leg loss to Real Madrid, is almost probably not going to play in the match. But according to TZ, he will get Kicker’s coveted cannon-shaped prize in honour of becoming the Bundesliga’s top scorer, having scored 36 goals in his rookie campaign.

Kane’s incredible goal tally is 10 larger than Stuttgart’s Serhou Guirassy in second place, hence why the accolade will be presented even with a match still left to play. The Bayern ace will reportedly not fly with the rest of the team on Friday and is instead set to make his own way to Hoffenheim’s ground on match day.

Despite being Europe’s most prolific striker this season, Kane’s 36 goals still fall short of Robert Lewandowski’s Bundesliga record 41 goals, which he scored in just 29 games during the 2020–21 season.

Kane’s attention will now be on getting healthy for Euro 2024 after finishing far behind undefeated German winners Bayer Leverkusen and failing to win any more medals while wearing a Bayern shirt—a true rarity for the Bavarians. Along with teams like France and Portugal, England is one of the favourites to win the tournament.
