2026 World Cup: FIFA Elects AT&T Stadium As Final Venue 

The 2026 World Cup final has been handed to Dallas, Texas’ AT&T Stadium – home of NFL side Dallas Cowboys.

The Daily Mail reports that the Cowboys’ home field triumphed against MetLife Stadium in New Jersey. After months of conjecture, the choice has finally been made, and all the other host cities have confirmed. The tournament will have a new format in 2026, with 104 games spread over 39 days in three different nations.

The 2026 final is set to be the biggest sporting event ever held in the United States in one single location, now that the venue has been confirmed. Able to hold over 100,000 persons, AT&T Stadium will see an attendance bigger than suburbs of metropolitan cities attend the contest. The venue has hosted everything from Dirt Bike Racing events to Monster Truck driving to pop concerts, as well as every other sporting event possible. It also has a retractable roof meaning, if the weather is poor, it will not effect the match. The key attraction, though, is that it boasts a $40m hung HDTV video board, measuring 160 feet by 72 feet.

The record attendance at AT&T Stadium is 108,713, and it came on February 2, 2010 at the NBA All-Star Game.

Worldwide campaigns to qualify for the 2024 World Cup have already commenced and will continue till that time. But as Mexico is the hosting country, the United States, and Canada have all automatically qualified for the competition.
