Coventry University is a public research university located in Coventry, England and has some characteristics that make it unique.

A university with a peculiar history, it has a link with the Coventry School of Design in 1843,  known as Lanchester Polytechnic from 1970 until 1987, and then as Coventry Polytechnic until it gained university status in 1992.
