At least 2 people are feared dead, and about twenty vehicles burnt in a fire incident which erupted at about 2am earlier this morning, in the Ijegun area of Lagos.

Eye witnesses who were shocked to their marrows by the enormity of the fire, said it was caused by pipeline vandalisation, a recurrent crime in the area.

it was this incident that birthed the name , Fire Junction, where the latest incident took place.

The matter would have been worse had there been products in the nearly gas plant in the area, but

The Eagle correspondent who arrived the scene early enough, said an unknown number of shops were burnt down, even as the fire trailed the gutter overrunning vehicles packed nearby.

Some buildings equally caught the inferno, but more damage was checkmated by the arrival of the fire service, Red Cross and the Lagos, State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA).
