Social media users have harsh words for David Baerten: “You Have Invoked the Spirit of Death upon Yourself” and should await the consequences, they tell the Belgian Tik Toker

Baerten’s offence is that he orchestrated an elaborate hoax of his own death, and followed suit with a funeral, just so he could test the loyalty of family members.

He said he wanted to use the costly joke to also teach a moral in keeping touch with beloved ones.

Not only did he pre-inform his immediate family members, one of his daughters penned a touching tribute to make the whole thing look real.

She wrote: “Rest I peace Daddy, I will never stop thinking about you. Why is life so unfair? Why you? You were going to be a grandfather and you had your whole life before ahead of you. I love you. We love you and we will never forget you”.

The staged funeral actually was underway when Baerten arrived in a helicopter with a film crew and the whole plot blew open.

But rather than smile along with him, many social media users have declared to Baerten: You Have Invoked the Spirit of Death upon Yourself and would soon die.

Life is not lived twice, he has been cried once by many, so the dead have recorded him among themselves. Watch out for his death soon, said Augustine Osifo
