You cannot portray Governor Ganduje as corrupt, this is what happens…

For defaming the reputation of the state governor, Abdullahi Ganduje, two Tiktok skit creators, Mubarak Muhammad, also known as Uniquepikin, and Nazifi Muhammad, have been placed in detention by the Kano State Magistrate Court.

In one of their skits, the defendants characterized the governor as a corrupt official who, among other dirty deeds, sold the majority of the state’s lands, People’s Gazette reports.

Following the reading of the allegations of conspiracy and defamation of the state helmsman, Uniquepikin and Nazif entered a plea of guilty.

The two Tikokers were then ordered to remain in prison detention as the case was continued to November 7, 2022 by Magistrate Court 58, Nomansland’s presiding magistrate Aminu Gambari.

Since the Daily Nigerian newspaper aired recordings of Ganduje stuffing bundles of bribes in foreign money into the pockets of his babanriga (flowing robe), he has been painted as a corrupt public officer.

The governor has a reputation for retaliating against opponents and journalists who call attention to his illicit business transactions with the state.

However, the governor’s defenders think that many of his detractors have political agendas.
