You Are Not Losers But Gladiators

All candidates of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) Ogun State in Saturday’s elections should see themselves not as losers but gladiators.

This admonition was given to them by the gubernatorial candidate of the party, Ambassador Olufemi Ajadi Oguntoyinbo.

He said they should always have this at the back of their minds irrespective of whether they won or lost elections.

Winning and losing, he said are relative terms which could not be totally understood in a present time, but something that is better appreciated on the long run.

Ajadi who spoke at a post-election interaction with the candidates, said their coming out to contest was in itself commendable, as that was in response to the calls of the Ogun people.

The NNPP he reminded them is a party on a mission, and that the foot soldiers deployed for that mission could never be defeated though they may suffer momentary setbacks.

He described all of them as not losers but gladiators in that they accepted to challenge the status quo in answer to the needs of the generality of Ogun people adding that the party as an entity would continuously march forward to the victory day.

He urged all the candidates to know that it was not over yet, even as the gubernatorial election beckons.

“We have finished a first phase which is last Saturday’s presidential and the legislative elections; we have a bigger one coming, the Gubernatorial, and all hands must be on deck.”

Ajadi said the onus was on all of them to apply the lessons of last week’s polls in the future elections.
