‘Why We Chose Miss NIJ As Brand Ambassador For The Eagle Awards’

Organisers of the The Eagle Awards & Banquet have given reasons why they chose a former holder of the Miss NIJ beauty crown as its brand ambassador.

The beauty queen in question is Olubunmi Oyebola who had been a past holder of the crown.

The group said via a press release that the queen, Miss Olubunmi Oyebola was chosen because of the values which she represents, and which are in line with the philosophy of the awards.

The release which was signed by Captain John Igboko, chairman, Advisory Council, The Eagle Awards & Banquet said Olubunmi had remained a positive influence wherever she had found herself ever since, in terms of her values as a person, her industry and also the

“From the time she emerged as Miss NIJ till now, Olubunmi had remained a role model in more senses than one.

Not only is she hardworking, preferring to earn her dignity and living in an honest fashion, she is most humble and amiable and in terms of character. You would see in her the very virtues which every youth of today should aspire to possess”, the release said.

IT added: “She is one lady you could entrust with duties and that delivers without a fuzz.

“Hers are rare ideals and any youth of today who possesses them should be acknowledged indeed”, the release said.

Olubunmi, currently back in school for her Higher National Diploma (NHD) in Mass Communication still services a regular column in a national newspaper and is both a  brand influencer and a youth coach.

She told our reporter in an interview that she was happy working as a brand ambassador for The Eagle Award, describing those associated with the scheme as honourable individuals in their different fields.

“It is one thing to have a novel idea as The Eagle Awards & Banquet; it is another thing to have behind it, respectful and trusted individuals as the drivers.  And that is one thing that has impressed me with the scheme”she said.

According to her, there is no doubt about the relevance and usefulness of The Eagle Awards & Banquet, adding: “There are several industrious and honest Nigerians across the different fields of endeavor. Such people have continued to make big impacts in the society, but most times anonymously,. Yes, we might not reach everybody the way it should be, yet, nothing stops us from trying”.

She asserted that the realization that honesty and industry pay, may turn out a tonic for someone who had hitherto believed in making it fast even if crookedly.

“there has to be a way of telling people and organizations, well done for a job well done. This has a way of boosting the morale of such people. It also stands to affect the behavior and conduct of others watching”, she said.

She said as brand ambassador she was resolved to taking the message of the awards to wherever her might would take her.

“It would be my honour to personally receive the distinguished Nigerians who have been shortlisted for the awards, in fact, to be amongst those that would hand them their trophies”.
