Why Truck Fell Off Bridge, Landed On Korope Buses Below – LASTMA

The Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) has proffered the reason why a fully loaded truck fell off the Pen Cinema bridge along the old Abeokuta Road, landing on commercial vehicles popularly called korope, below.

News about the incident which involved a truck with registration number, GGE 624 YJ broke in the morning, sending shivers in the spines of people around.

Aside the tick population of humans in the area, the truck driver fractured his limbs and arms

General Manager of LASTMA, Olalekan Bakare-Oki, reacting to the accident, said preliminary investigations showed the driver lost control while navigating the bridge.

He said LASTMA Officers successfully extricated the severely injured driver and immediately entrusted him to officers of the Elere Police Division.

He added that the man was subsequently conveyed to the General Hospital, Ile-Epo, for urgent medical attention.

Further, LASTMA operatives immediately swing into action, cordoning off the area and diverting vehicular traffic.

The Eagle gathered that Bakare-Oki, equally advised road users to exercise more caution on the road, especially with the imminence of the rainy season.
