“On the way to the hospital to see her doctor, she died and her remains were returned home to be prepared for burial after being certified dead.

“She was buried according to Islamic rites in MC Oluomo’s house at NNPC near Ejigbo, Lagos State,’’ he said.

And now, that is where the issue is.

With the caliber of the person of MC, more so, his position in NURTW, as well as his philanthropic nature, you can imagine what would have happened today at his residence in normal times.

By now, the whole place would have been breaming with people from all walks of life.

And that is because the man has actually touched lives from different walks.

As much as it bereavement, but you can never rule out food and drinks making the rounds.

You would have been sure of Oluomo’s boys shifting camp temporarily to his residence.

Given the culture of Nigerians and Yoruba particularly, this is one opportunity when friends and relations rally, to show their grief and also sow their solidarity.

Moreso, like has been inferred earlier, would have provided opportunity for literary anyone who would have made it to taste of the usual Oluomo generousity.

However, all of these appears to have been nullified by the reality on ground – the social distancing rule.

As much as he would desire to play host to as many as would have come to identify with him, but the rule now stands as a deterrent.

There is little or no doubt that the hopes of many of his teeming fans and supporters have effectively been dashed.

Except the lockdown is effectively lifted today, the spontaneity of the solidarity expected has been smoldered, such that, with clairvoyance, they would have preferred the death postponed.
