Why I Agreed To Become Kwankwaso’s running mate; -Full Text

And so, eventually, youthful contender in the 2023 presidency, Olufemi Ajadi Oguntoyinbo decided to step down for Sen Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, and become his running mate in the 2023 presidential election.

Here, we produce the full text of Ajadi’s speech agreeing to step down.

SPEECH BY COMRADE OLUFEMI AJADI OGUNTOYINBO OF THE NNPP, ANNOUNCING HIS STEPPING DOWN AS PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATE OF THE NNPP, TO SERVE AS RUNNING MATE TO SENATOR RABIU KWAKWANSO

 The national Chairman of our great party,

Members of the National Working Committee,

National and state executives,

Other officers,

Distinguished members of the press, Fellow Nigerians,

,Ladies and gentlemen.

 It is a beautiful day today in our country, Nigeria.

I say beautiful because we are at the point of making history.

Today marks a real turning point for us as individuals, NNPP members and as Nigerians.

 We are here today to witness an epoch event in the history of our party, and Nigeria.

. Nigeria is a country that God Himself has blessed, but look around you today, you will agree with me that things are not working well.

1. There is hunger in the land, despite the fact that Nigeria has arable land and a variety of foods and crops;
2. There is insecurity in the country, despite the fact that there is an elected government, with the Police, the Army, Navy and Air force
3. Our children finish school and there are no jobs.

Is it a wonder that there is crime every where?

4. Roads are in terrible condition
5. There is no public water supply, no electricity, and all the basic necessities of life.

But we have a government.

We have billions of naira in cash and assets.

I now ask,

What is the missing link?

Distinguished Nigerians, the missing link is Selfless, sincere, and servant-based leadership, guided by the highest sense of equity and fairness.

That is what we in the NNPP have come to offer.

 Ladies and gentlemen, that is why, I OLUFEMI AJADI OGUNTOYINBO, having considered many things, and in the interest of our great party and beloved country, today, relinquish my presidential ambition, to support the presidential candidacy of Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso as his running mate.

it is all in the interest of our party and our country.

You know Senator Kwakwanso is a great Nigerian, accomplished politician and administrator who will lift this country.

 I pledge my loyalty at all times to the course of serving our party and country first as presidential running mate and eventually vice president of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
