Why Computer Village Must Move By This Deadline –LASG

The Lagos State Government has insisted that there was no going back in the relocation of Nigeria’s leading Information Communication Technology (ICT) hub, popularly known as Computer Village.

Permanent Secretary in the Office of Urban Development, Arc. Gbolahan Oki made the reiteration at a stakeholders’ meeting in Alausa, Lagos.

“The current site, originally a residential area, has been adversely affected by unplanned development, displacing many residents.”, Oke stated, adding that the Babajide Sanwo‑Olu administration was committed to ending the years of unsuccessful attempts at relocating computer village.

The driver of the relocation bid, he informed is the administration’s vision for sustainable urban development, even as there is a standing directive for the new computer village to meet international standards

“The government will provide a 15‑hectare site equipped with facilities such as trailer parks, hotels, banks, a police station, a fire station, and other community amenities,” he said.

According to the state government, the new computer village site at Katangowa covers 15 hectares
