What Victor Osimhen Says About Man United, Chelsea Transfer Rumour

Victor Osimhen acknowledges that joining the Premier League is “an aspiration of all players,” citing links to Manchester United and Chelsea as examples.

After scoring 21 goals in a successful 2022–23 season for Serie A leaders Napoli, the Nigerian international striker has emerged as one of the game’s most in-demand prospects. Even at the age of 24, Osimhen’s game still has more potential to be realized.

The possibility of big-money bids coming from clubs like United and Chelsea in the summer transfer window is an interesting one, and there is plenty of discussion about it.

When asked about the alleged English interest in him and whether he would like to play in the Premier League, Osimhen responded to Corriere della Sera as follows: “I think it is an ambition of all players. And who knows, one day. Right now, I assure you, it doesn’t even cross my mind. It would distract me from a beautiful season. [I’m thinking of] only Napoli.”

Osimhen, a Nigerian star, is committed to helping Napoli win its first Serie A championship since Diego Maradona’s days in 1990. He is sure that Napoli was destined to soar to the top of Italian soccer.

He added: “[I believed Napoli could lift the Scudetto] before we even started winning. And there is a preserved image that testifies to the moment. It was summer, and after a fairly hard training session, I was talking to Anguissa. I said to him: ‘Frank, you know that our team is strong and we can really try to win the Scudetto’. He was sceptical, and I convinced him.

“Spalletti approaches and asks us what we are talking about. I tell him, and he looks at me and says: ‘If your team-mates are convinced, as you are, yes, we can try’. This is how our beautiful story was born, made up of matches, training sessions, and men who don’t spare themselves. We are made of leaders.”
