What Newcastle Boss Says About Ronaldo Transfer Speculation

Following Cristiano Ronaldo’s signing to Al-Nassr, Newcastle head coach Eddie Howe has denied rumors that he would be sent a loan by Newcastle.

Reports said that Ronaldo might make a summer comeback to the Premier League by joining Newcastle United on loan if they qualify for the Champions League as a result of a clause included in his contract when he traveled to Saudi Arabia to officially complete his free move to Al-Nassr.

Prior to Tuesday’s 0-0 tie between Newcastle and Arsenal, Howe was eager to put out the flames.

Before the game, the Magpies manager told Sky Sports: “We wish Cristiano the best in his new endeavor, but there’s no truth in that from our perspective.”

With record acquisition Alexander Isak nearing a comeback after a protracted injury layoff and the club now enjoying Saudi-backed ownership, Newcastle could strengthen their roster in ways other than with Ronaldo this January, to increase their chances of qualifying for the Champions League.
