What Brighton’s Star Caicedo Says About Chelsea Transfer Rumour
Moises Caicedo has dismissed all rumours surrounding his transfer despite being linked to both Chelsea and Liverpool.
The Ecuadorian international’s stock has increased significantly since joining Brighton in 2021, and after making just 26 Premier League appearances for his current side, he is reportedly registering on recruitment radars at Stamford Bridge and Anfield.

According to rumors, Chelsea is in the lead for his services, but Brighton rejected their opening offer of £55 million. Caicedo is conscious of the rumors he is stirring up, but the 21-year-old is eager to emphasize that he is still entirely dedicated to the group effort at the Amex Stadium.
Caicedo has told the Seagulls’ official website when asked about his future plans: “I am focused on Brighton. I am here, I’m playing every day. Things from outside don’t trouble me, nor does it take that focus away because I’m focused only on here.
“I handle [the speculation] well. You hear rumours here and there, but I only try to be focused on the club where I am now, the club which opened the doors for me to be playing every week.”
Caicedo is under contract with Brighton through the summer of 2025, and the club has been quick to emphasize out that the initial £42 million ($52 million) asking price would only be sufficient to acquire the “laces” of a valued asset.
Despite losing manager Graham Potter to Chelsea early in the season, Caicedo has assisted Brighton in making progress in the 2022–23 campaign.
Roberto De Zerbi’s team is presently seated sixth in the Premier League standings and has games in hand over most of those above them.
