‘We Haven’t Won Enough’ – Arteta Not Content With Arsenal Success 

The manager of Arsenal, Mikel Arteta, is not happy with the team’s accomplishments during his four years in charge, feeling that they “haven’t won enough”.

The Spanish manager, who served as Pep Guardiola’s assistant for three years, joined at the Emirates in December 2019. After the Gunners’ worst run of form in 27 years, he took Unai Emery’s place. He won the Community Shield in 2020 and 2023 and the FA Cup in 2019–20 during his four years in charge in north London. In an effort to elevate the “important things,” such as the Premier League and the Champions League, Arteta desires more trophies.

When Arteta was asked if he was impressed with his record with Arsenal, he said: “‘I’m sure I would (have taken that). But we still haven’t won enough important things and we want to be better and more successful. (There are) A lot of things we have achieved together in those four years but that’s nice for the people that have been in this journey with us together and the ones that are behind us as well.”

Arteta could have conquered England in the previous season but for a slump at the business end of the campaign which saw Manchester City come back from a five-point deficit at the top to win the Premier League. In the ongoing season, Arteta has guided Arsenal back to the Champions League knockout stages after a seven-year hiatus from the prestigious competition and are currently first in the league standings, with a point ahead of Liverpool.

The two teams square off in a thrilling Premier League match on Sunday, and Arteta has the chance to increase his advantage at the top by defeating Jurgen Klopp‘s team at Anfield.
