Voice Evidence: PDP Absolves Atiku Of Plans To Rig Elections

The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) has denied a purported voice evidence its presidential candidate Atiku Abubar with others, discussing how to rig elections

The party made the denial today via a statement by its National Publicity Secretary, Debo Ologunagba.

It said the simulated voice was not that of Atiku and supposedly other party members discussing plan to rig elections.

Nigeria goes to the polls tomorrow with Atiku believed to be amongst the strong contenders for the presidency.

But the statement by the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Debo Ologunagba, said the allegation should be taken with a pinch of the salt

The purported audio, allegedly that of Abubakar, his running mate, Governor Ifeanyi Okowa and Director-General of the PDP Presidential Campaign Council, Governor Aminu Tambuwal, was a pathetical fabrication.

“From the manipulated sound speed and pitch, it is clear that the recording was computer created and simulated to blackmail our leaders and deceive unsuspecting members of the public.

“It is laughable for the APC to want Nigerians to believe that Abubakar, Okowa and Tambuwal who know themselves, can be calling their own names in a conversation as heard in the fake audio recording.

“Such further betrays the recording as an amateur simulation work. “

On the other hand, he fingered the ruling the All Progressives Congress (APC) as responsible. Saying the party had engaged some people to circulate the fake voice evidence.

According to him, what the originators were trying to do was to demonise Abubakar and the party he represents onwards the election.

“The fact is that no matter how hard falsehood attempts to thrive, the truth will always prevail.”, the scribe said, adding his party, already set for the elections would not allow itself to be deterred by such allegations.
