VIDEO: Weghorst Leaves Turkey To Complete Man United Medical

Wout Weghorst was seen on camera departing Istanbul with a smile on his face before his eagerly awaited transfer to Manchester United.

In video released by Turkish TV DHA Spor on Thursday, the Netherlands international was seen quickly ascending the stairs of an airport entry in Istanbul.

Burnley’s Weghorst is returning to England to undertake a medical at Old Trafford after Besiktas terminated his season-long loan agreement after reaching an agreement on a £2.7 million settlement with United.

The 30-year-old will now join the Red Devils for the rest of the season before going back to Turf Moor to play for his parent club.

Following Cristiano Ronaldo’s departure from Old Trafford in November, Weghorst has been added to Erik ten Hag’s squad. The Dutchman, who made an impression for his nation at the 2022 World Cup, will offer more protection for United in the final third as they pursue multiple championships and a return to the Champions League.

In time for Saturday’s matchup with Manchester City at Old Trafford in the Premier League, Weghorst might be officially registered as a United player. The forward might make his debut four days later at Crystal Palace if he does not make his debut in the derby.
