The presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP), Peter Obi has sparked reactions, following the emotional moment he shed tears while lamenting the deplorable situation in Nigeria and how it is affecting the citizens of the country.

Speaking during a press conference today, Obi was narrating a story of an encounter with a jobless female Nigerian graduate who couldn’t secure a job or purchase a N75,000 oven to start a baking business when he became teary.

Overtaken by emotions, the Labour Party candidate lamented that the lady’s situation is a typical example of what is happening to many Nigerians.

Following his breakdown, ‘Obidient’ netizens shared in their principal’s pain as they noted their remarks.

A tweep wrote, “He is so heart broken that the common nigerian is struggling to even survive. You can’t even fake this kind of love for humanity ,you can see how hurt he is.”

Another, wrote, “When I told people I’ve been crying since Monday night due to fraud called inec,they were like,”am I not a man” . Now see my principal broken.”

Meanwhile, Afolabi another tweep, alleged the reason for Obi’s long silence since the announcement of the Presient-elect was because he had to been put to tears.

The user wrote, “I knew this is the reason it took him a long time to come out to speak after the elections.Some of us have cried many times too. Some times, it’s like all hope is gone with Nigeria.”
