VIDEO: Moment Trabzonspor Fans Storm Pitch & Fight With Fenerbahce Players After Late Dramatic Defeat

More outrageous incidents have occurred in Turkey, where after a heart-stopping defeat, Trabzonspor supporters stormed the pitch to brawl with Fenerbahce players.
The game in question finished 3-2 to Fener, with former Manchester United midfielder Fred bagging a brace before ex-Chelsea striker Michy Batshuayi settled matters with an 87th-minute strike. That effort started the unrest, with objects being thrown onto the field by those in the stands.

Anger among Trabzonspor supporters swiftly grew, with one taking to the pitch at the last whistle. While Batshuayi was observed kicking out at a pitch invader who approached him too closely, Fenerbahce defender Bright Osayi-Samuel engaged into a physical altercation with the supporter.

Dozens more then stormed the field, with Fener players having to run for safety as security forces endeavoured to help them down the tunnel. Ismail Kartal insists that his players did not provoke the home support, while Trabzonspor boss Abdullah Avci called the unfortunate events “upsetting”.
Turkey’s interior minister, Ali Yerlikaya, posted on social media, as he vowed to launch an investigation into the unsightly brawl: “Above all, sport is gentlemanship. It is never acceptable for violence to take place on football pitches.” The Turkish league has already made unwelcome headlines this season for an attack on a referee by a club president, the postponement of the Turkish cup final in Saudi Arabia and various protests against decisions from match officials.
