An Argentine journalist, TV host Pablo Giralt from Direct TV Sports broke down in tears during an interview with football star, Lionel Messi

The 48-year-old opened the conversation with his fellow countryman by describing how it has been his “dream” to interview him.

In his words:I’ve dreamed of doing this all my life, but I never thought I would be lucky enough to be able to accompany you with my story, with my love. I thank you with all my heart.”

The TV personality was clearly overcome by emotion as he was seen rubbing Messi on the knee before breaking down in tears when he saw the guy standing next to him.

Messi originally grappled with how to respond when receiving such genuine adulation and appeared a little embarrassed.

However, leaning back on the sofa he was seated on, he laughed it off, leaned forward and laid his hand on the journalist.

Reactions have trailed this clip from social media tweeps, as some question why Messi was laughing, others opined that Messi still considers himself an average man.
