VIDEO: Moment Australia Fans Go Wild After Denmark Win
After The Socceroos were guaranteed a spot in the World Cup knockout round, Australian supporters celebrated wildly into the early hours of the morning.
Wednesday’s 1-0 victory over Denmark by Graham Arnold’s team advanced them to the round of 16 of the 2022 World Cup. Thanks to a victory by Matthew Leckie in the second half, Australia came in second place in Group D. Melbourne residents came to the streets in the wee hours of the morning to celebrate the victory with flares and drums.
For the first time since 2006, Australia has advanced to the knockout rounds. They will attempt to beat that mark this time, but there is a significant obstacle.
