VIDEO: Mohamed Elneny Sends Out Heartfelt Message To Arsenal Fans

Following more than eight years with the club, Mohamed Elneny confirmed his departure and issued a heartfelt message to Arsenal supporters.

The Egypt international joined Arsenal from FC Basel in January 2016 under former manager Arsene Wenger and went on to make 161 appearances for the club. With his contract running out this summer, the 31-year-old has thanked the north London outfit and supporters for their “love” over the years and says they will be in his heart forever.

In a video message, he said: “Gunners. I am here today to send you a message to say goodbye and thank you for everything you have done for me. The love, support, and kindness; I am going to miss you so much and you will be in my heart forever. I want to say how much I love you and how much you mean to me and I will never forget the way you supported me. I am going to see you on Sunday at Emirates Stadium to say goodbye, face to face. See you, Gunners.”

Elneny has spent the last eight and a half years as an obedient employee of Arsenal. He was a member of the teams that advanced to the League Cup finals the next year and the Europa League finals in 2019 in addition to helping them win the FA Cup in 2017. Despite his current marginalisation, his legacy at Arsenal remains untarnished.

Elneny, who spent the 2019–20 season on loan with Besiktas, will now search for a new team. Prior to that, he will have the opportunity to bid the supporters farewell when they play their final Premier League match of the season against Everton at the Emirates on Sunday.
