Mason Mount, a new signing for Manchester United, ran the risk of angering Chelsea supporters when he and his father referred to their new surroundings as “home.”

In a behind-the-scenes video of Mount exploring his new home stadium, he made the remarks towards the conclusion. The couple visited the Theatre of Dreams when Mount was a young boy, as the midfielder and his father saw the renowned home dressing room at Old Trafford.

Posing for photos, Mount’s father Tony said: “Home, mate. Home. Who’d have thought it, eh, when I brought you up here as a little boy.”

Prior to his £60 million ($77 million) transfer to Old Trafford, Mount, who has long been known as “Mr. Chelsea,” said a tearful farewell to the team he joined as a boy.

Many Blues supporters were already displeased by his choice to leave and join the team’s Premier League rivals, so the dialogue that alluded to a past emotional connection to United infuriated them online.

Mount has already gotten down to work with his new team-mates, preparing for a busy pre-season schedule that takes in a four-game tour of the United States.
