VIDEO: Jose Mourinho Visibly Emotional After Shock Roma Sacking

Following his unexpected firing at Roma, Jose Mourinho said goodbye to his followers while displaying obvious signs of sadness.

The highly-regarded Portuguese tactician was fired from Stadio Olimpico after the Giallorossi managed just one victory in their last six Serie A games. He led the team to Europa Conference League championship in 2022 and the Europa League final the previous season.

His contract was set to expire at the end of the current campaign, but Roma decided to take immediate action and appoint a new manager to the dugout long before the summer arrives. Daniele De Rossi, a club legend, has been given temporary leadership until June 2024.

Mourinho may be back in management by then, with the 60-year-old not one to stay out of work for long. His departure from the Italian capital has, however, hit hard – with a larger-than-life character struggling to hold back his emotions when driving out of Roma’s training centre for the final time.
