VIDEO: Barcelona Newboy Vitor Roque Documents First Day In Catalonia 

Vitor Roque, who completed his transfer from Athletico Paranaense, had a memorable first day in Barcelona.

Following the completion of a €35 million (£30 million/$39 million) transfer, the 18-year-old Brazilian had a hectic first day in his new surroundings. After landing, he proceeded straight to Barcelona’s medical facilities at Ciutat Esportiva, where he was scanned and tested before signing a contract.

His schedule included a picture outside the club offices, in front of the famous Barca emblem, after lunch. The player, sporting his new colours and the club logo, grinned broadly as he posed for photographers.

The only reason Barcelona was able to sign Vitor Roque was because Gavi sustained an ACL injury while playing for Spain against Georgia in their Euro 2024 qualifying match. The midfield player is expected to miss the remainder of the season, so the Catalan club took advantage of the possibility to free up 80% of the pay to temporarily register the forward with La Liga through June.

Roque is scheduled to begin training with Barcelona on December 29 and is expected to make his debut on January 4 against Las Palmas.
